Online version of the Thomas Pennant Exhibition held at the National Library of Wales from December 1998 to February 1999. Thomas Pennant was an author of topographical and natural history works, who helped to popularize and promote the study of natural history. For his illustrations, he employed a full-time artist, Moses Griffith, and used John Ingleby of Halkin extensively on a contract basis. Many of the images used in the exhibition can be viewed on the site and there is a complete index of the objects exhibited. There is also a selected bibliography and short chronology. The extensive supporting notes were prepared by Sian Bowyer, Paul Joyner and Charles Parry.
